Lesson #2 of 4
How to Generate Sales on the

First Week of Selling on Amazon

(Did you miss Lesson #1 of 4? If you did, click this link now)

Hey there…

Lish again...

On Lesson #1 we talked about the entire 6-month process of becoming an Amazon Seller.

I showed you what you need to do month-by-month so you can start selling on Amazon.

In this lesson, we're going to talk about sales.

More specifically:

What did my students do to start generating sales...

...in their FIRST WEEK of selling on Amazon.

Bold University Speaker 2020

They simply followed the THREE "FAM" PILLARS ...

Here are the "FAM" Pillars:

First Pillar: Product Development

Second Pillar: Listing Optimization

Third Pillar: PPC Launch Plan

In this lesson, I'm going to go in-depth on each of these 3 pillars.

But first, I want to share with you a few common mistakes Filipino Amazon Sellers make...

These mistakes won't necessarily make you fail. But it will prolong your success.

Look...

As an Amazon Seller living in the US or other 1st world countries, failing means waiting another 2-3 weeks for new products to arrive.

For a Filipino Amazon Seller? Failing means waiting 5-8 weeks for new products to arrive.

So a lot of time (and money) will be wasted IF you're not careful.

That's why I want to share this with you first...

The Business-Ending Mistakes Filipino

Amazon Sellers Often Make

Mistake #1: Falling in love with your products

As business owners, we're biased.

We know our products are great.

We know they have world-class quality.

We know anyone would be LUCKY to have them.

But...

Sometimes those are just our opinions.

We overestimate the value of our products' features and benefits.

So we go ahead and buy 500 units.

Yet when we sell them on Amazon, no one buys.

That's why you must be EXTRA CAUTIOUS with this.

DO NOT fall in love with your product.

Surround yourself with mentors, coaches, and other Amazon sellers you trust. Ask them whether your product idea is good or not. Ask them to tell you the TRUTH -- even if it hurts.

Prevention is always better than cure.

Mistake #2: Not performing ENOUGH competitor research

Competitor research is different from product research and market research.

  • Product research is where you find a "winning" product.
  • Market research is where you understand your target market's pain, problems, and frustrations.
  • Competitor research is looking at your competition and how you size up.

Like I said in Lesson #1, always find 'low hanging' fruit.

This means find categories where you can easily dominate.

Don't sell products you can't rank on Amazon.

See first if you’re up against a BIG BRAND in your category.

Like I mentioned, your aim is to be the #1, #2, or #3 in a specific sub-category in Amazon...

...because once you do that, it snowballs.

For example, you're #1 for a tiny sub-niche. If you get reviews and sales, you'll eventually be #1 for a another tiny sub-niche.

So on and so forth.

BUT...

You can't do that WITHOUT proper competitor research.

Next...

Mistake #3: Selling products "as is" and not checking the quality

For the longest time, you can make "easy money" on Amazon by selling what's already selling.

For example, the fidget spinner.

When it was hot, a lot of sellers wanted a piece of the pie.

So they found suppliers, slapped their logo, shipped it to Amazon, and then sold it.

There was a flood of new Fidget Spinner sellers on Amazon.

However...

This practice has increased the number of refunds and reports of "low-quality" products.

Why?

Because these lazy business owners ONLY wanted to make a quick buck.

They did not think about the product's quality.

Amazon hated that.

So Amazon started investigating and started PUNISHING lazy business owners who did this.

So...

If you want to sell on Amazon, make sure your products are of high-quality.

Make sure you ask for samples first before selling them on Amazon.

Alright?

Now that's out of the way, let's proceed to the what you're here for:

The Three "FAM" Pillars Finally Revealed

My students aren’t all savvy marketers, ecom masters, or expert sales people.

In fact, some of them are TOTAL BEGINNERS

Yet, they were able to generate sales in the first few days of selling on Amazon.

The reason?

They executed the following:

Pillar #1
Product Development

We encourage our students to develop/innovate products with their suppliers…

...rather than sell the products “as is.”

It's also okay if you DO NOT have a product idea yet.

Inside Filipino Amazon Masterclass, I show you how to find one.

You'll be given a checklist on what to look for, what to avoid and so much more.

Another thing:

Finding the right product is just half of the work.

You need to do research.

You need to develop your product based on your research.

Finally, you need to transform it into something that will make it IRRESISTIBLE to your target market.

Here are 3 ways to do that:

1. Make sure the product will solve ONE big problem

Quick example:

A power bank that's BOTH for cellphones and laptops.

This solves a big problem, right?

2. Make sure the product will fill a BIG GAP

Another example is smart watch straps. There are only limited designs.

Why not sell that has an anime design? Or maybe a sports theme? Or a celebrity theme?

That fills a BIG GAP.

3. Make sure the product serves a SPECIFIC/NEW sub-niche.

Another quick example is brushes for dogs...

...but they are ONLY for Pomeranians.

It's super niche, but big enough for you to generate sales.

These are just brief examples.

If I tell you the entire breakdown, I'll have to write a 50+ page ebook.

For now, let's move on to the next...

Pillar #2
Product Listing Optimization

There are three parts to this.

The first part is KEYWORDS

You have to know what "keywords" your ideal customers type into Amazon to find your products.

If you're selling brushes for Pomeranians, the keyword might be "best combs for pomeranians."

Or "brushes for small dogs"...

Or "best pomeranian brushes"...

You have to know this because you'll write it down in your headline, bullets, and product description.

Once you gathered 5-10 solid keywords, you'll have to move on to the second part.

The second part is COPY-WRITING

Copy-writing is where you use persuasive language to compel people to buy.

You employ these tactics on your headlines, sub-headlines, bullets, descriptions, and so forth.

If you're not a good writer or you're an inexperienced digital marketer...

Don't worry.

You only need to IMITATE and then INNOVATE.

Look at what the best-selling products in your category are doing.

How are they writing their ads? What words do they use to describe their products?

You'll eventually see a pattern emerge. A framework. A formula most sellers are using.

Imitate the framework (not copy...alright?) and then make it BETTER.

The third part is TWEAKING and OPTIMIZING

This is where you start testing.

See if you're targeting the right keywords.

Observe if making small tweaks will generate sales.

Identify which changes helped you get more visitors and buyers.

This can take time.

But you can always use tools to make this more efficient.

Pillar #3
Launch Your Amazon PPC Campaign

Once you know...

  • What problem or gap your product is solving...
  • What "keywords" you're targeting to get ideal customers...
  • Your product listing is already optimized...

IT IS TIME TO RUN ADS.

Amazon's dashboard is a bit different than Facebook's.

Inside Amazon, you can bid for keywords...

...which means your ads will ONLY be shown to users who type a specific search term.

If you target "combs for men", your ads will only be shown to users who type that specific search term.

Inside Amazon, you can bid for a lot of keywords. You can also bid for as low as $1/day.

If you want to edge out your competition, you can spend more or spend smart.

Spending smart is knowing WHAT KEYWORDS to target and making sure your product listing is optimized.

By now, you're probably wondering...
Does This REALLY Work?

Here's a student of mine from Batch 3 who generated $100 sales in his first week.

Another student generated sales in the first week. He decided to tweak his product listing and bid on Amazon ads.

Here's the result:

My student generated a few sales in the first week. All organic traffic.

But as soon as he bid on the RIGHT KEYWORDS...

...his sales immediately increased.

Sales from organic traffic also increased.

All they did was follow everything I outlined here.

So...

In lesson #1, you discovered what each month looked like once you start out as a Filipino Amazon Seller.

You saw the best practices, do's and the don'ts.

In this lesson, you saw the nitty-gritty details on how to get sales in your first week of selling.

The results above are not typical...

...because the work my students put in to get those results are not typical.

They worked HARD and worked SMART to make this happen.

They did the research.

They asked for direction.

They even invested in tools to make sure they're targeting the right keywords.

Not everyone is willing to do that.

That's why not everyone enjoys these kinds of results.

But I believe you're different. After all, you read all the way here. :)

You made sure you soaked up every single thing I taught.

And that's why I'm doing this.

I’m doing this for you.

So aspiring Filipino Amazon Sellers like you increase your chances to get sales EARLY and FAST.

Now...

If you're ready for more "hacks", you have to read lesson #3. :)

This is where I share THREE CASE STUDIES from my students.

I won't share their names, how much they're making or what they're selling. They specifically asked me to do that.

Because some of them are still employed. They don't want their bosses to know they have side gig where they're earning $$$$$. :)

Here's what I'm going to share next...
