Lesson #1 of 4
The Complete Filipino Amazon Seller Timeline

Your Month-by-Month Plan to Start Selling on Amazon

The lessons you’re about to read and consume...

...has never been released to the public before.

I’ve only taught these lessons to my FAM students.

It’s because I know they can HANDLE THE TRUTH.

An international Amazon business is unlike any other “online business opportunity.”

This is an actual business where thousands of employees (most of them from the United States) will work for you.

They will…

  • Handle your products
  • Deliver them to your customers
  • Perform customer service
  • Recommend your products
  • And even ask for reviews on your behalf

In short…

Amazon will do 80% of the hard work for you...

All you need to do is the 20% of the work upfront --- and DO IT RIGHT.

Once you’ve established the right foundations...

Amazon will bring customers to your doorstep every single day. You won’t even have to lift a finger.

You’ll be able to work 1 hour per day and make 7-figures per month --- just like what I’ve been doing.

Inside my mentorship program, I taught my students how to do this. I showed them how to build the right pillars for their Amazon business.

That’s why a LOT of them are seeing these results within their first year:

These are students who joined my Filipino Amazon Masterclass last July 2019.

In less than a year, they’re already generating an average of 1-2 unit sales per day.

One of my top students is making 5-10 unit sales per day.

In this lesson, I’m going to share with you exactly what they did to achieve these results.

If you ask me, it all starts with Step 0...

Step 0 - Amazon Seller Central (ASC) Account Approval

Amazon is now stricter than ever, so getting an Amazon Seller account can be difficult.

You will need the right documents.

Next, you must know how to apply. You must know the exact pages to visit, the buttons to click, and the right answers to give during the interview.

Here are a few “hacks” our students discovered to increase your chances of getting approved:

  • Hack #1: Use an International Bank Account in your application -- like HSBC and Unionbank -- if you have one. It increases your chances of getting approved.
  • Hack #2: Make sure your name & address is written the same way in all your documents. If your bill statement starts with “Blk.” instead of “Block”, then all the documents should start with “Blk.”
  • Hack #3: When Amazon asks for documents, submit them in the same sequence they were asked. If they asked for a new utility bill and new ID, submit the bill first. The new ID next.

Once you’re approved, here’s where the fun starts. :)

Month #1
Product Research and Market Research

Product research, market research, and competitor research is the MOST IMPORTANT step in your Amazon journey.

I can’t stress this enough.

Here’s why:

There are certain limitations on what you can sell since we live in the Philippines.

For example, we can't sell anything with batteries. The products will be held in U.S. Customs. You need to go there to claim them and explain what the items are for.

That’s why I made a criteria of items Filipino Amazon Sellers can sell on Amazon.

Aside from product research, you must identify “low hanging” fruits.

Basically, categories inside Amazon you can easily dominate. In the next few lessons, I’m going to show you different hacks on how to do that.

Now, why should we target “low hanging” fruits?

Because the majority of sales go to the #1, #2, and #3 products.

For example, the smartphone market. Apple and Samsung dominate the market. The majority of sales go to them. Others are just trying to catch up.

If you want to sell on Amazon, that's your goal.

From the start, your aim is to be #1, #2, and #3 in specific sub category.

Once you’ve found a product and a market, it’s time to move on to...

Month #2
Capitalization, Shipping and Delivery to

Amazon Warehouse

Once you have a product idea, the next step is to find 5 quality suppliers.

These suppliers can be from China or the Philippines or other countries. Up to you.

Talk to the 5 and then narrow your choice to 3.

Ask for samples from each of them.

Find the one you like the most.

Next is look at your competition. Look at their reviews.

  • What are the 1-star reviewers saying?
  • What’s lacking from their products?
  • What’s the #1 feature your market wants but your competitors can’t fulfill?

Can you fill that gap?

Can you be the brand that will solve their problems?

If so, start innovating your product alongside your supplier. Tell them to add a few features, remove a few features, and tell them they won’t sell the unique product to anyone else but you.

There will be a bit of back and forth during this stage.

You will also have to sign a few agreements.

And that’s okay.

Just make sure you read them thoroughly or ask a coach or a mentor to review it with you.

Once you’re happy with the product’s features and improvements, it’s time to negotiate!

Ask your supplier how much it will cost to create 20 units, 50 units, and 100 units.

More often than not, they will give you a huge discount if you buy more than 50 units.

Now that you know how much you need to spend, it’s time to move on to...

Month #3
Capitalization, Shipping and Delivery to

Amazon Warehouse

At this stage, you need to answer three questions:

  1. How many units am I going to send to Amazon’s warehouse?
  2. What’s the cost of shipping to send it to Amazon?
  3. What’s my profit margin once the products are sold out?

For example, you’re selling a product that costs $10. You bought 100 units. Your overall cost is $1,000.

There are two options for shipping. There’s via air or via sea. Via air is more expensive, but your stocks will arrive earlier.

Via sea is more affordable, but it will take 4-5 weeks before your stocks will arrive in Amazon’s warehouse.

Let’s say you chose via sea and the shipping fee is $2 per unit. Added cost of $200.

Total cost is now $1,200.

Once it arrives on Amazon’s warehouse, you’ll have two options:

(1) pay $1 on each unit sold

(2) pay $39.99 per month.

We suggest you choose option #2. But for the sake of this example, let’s say you chose option #1. That’s an added cost $1 per unit you have on stock.

In other words, you spent $13 to sell one unit on Amazon.

If you sell each unit on Amazon for $17 to $19 (which is what we suggest), you’ll earn a profit of $4 to $6 per unit.

That’s a NET profit of $400 to $600.

Some of my students use this net profit to advertise their products. The aim is to break even on the first batch so they get organic sales.

But if we break it down, here’s the total cost of selling on Amazon:

50% - Product Creation and Shipping Cost

15% - Amazon Fees

15% - Sponsored Ads

20% - Net Profit

If your product is too costly to create OR the shipping costs is expensive (because they’re heavy) and you can’t sell it at a competitive price...

...then don’t move on.

But if everything checks out -- the manufacturing cost is feasible, the shipping fee is affordable, and you can sell it at a competitive price -- then buy them at a wholesale price.

Ask your supplier to send it to Amazon’s warehouse (most of them already know how to do that).

If you chose shipping via sea, it will take 4-5 weeks before your stocks arrive at Amazon’s warehouse.

While you’re waiting for your stocks to reach Amazon's warehouse, you need to proceed to the next step.

Month #4
Listing Optimization and PPC Advertising

You must know what “keywords” your buyers are using to search for your products.

You need to strategically place them in your headline, bullets, and product descriptions.

This needs a bit of creativity and marketing knowledge. But you can start with looking at what your competitors are doing…

...and then simply write MORE PERSUASIVE headlines, sub-headlines, bullets, and product descriptions that show why your offer is better and unique.

I’ll discuss more about this in the next few lessons.

Now...

Once your stocks arrive at Amazon’s warehouse, Amazon will notify you.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Amazon will verify whether your supplier sent damaged goods. That’s why they won’t make all your stocks available as soon as they arrive.

They will make 5-20 units available first. After a few days, they’ll make all your stocks available for sale.

A few of my students have generated sales one to two days after their products listing went “LIVE.”

If you did research, developed a product that solves a program (or fills a gap) and optimized your listing properly…

...you will generate sales without paid advertising.

But we recommend you invest in advertising to extend your reach, make sales consistent, and rank faster.

In Amazon, the #1 way of advertising is through PPC (which stands for Pay-Per-Click). These are "sponsored ads" you find at the top, middle or bottom of an Amazon page.

In this step, you need to know what keywords to target, how much to bid, and where to place them for maximum impact, reach and conversions.

There are dozens of third-party tools you can use to track this. Our go-to tool is “Helium 10.”

Once you’re generating sales, your #1 concern in the next two months are...

Month #5 and Month #6
Customer Support and Getting Reviews

One reason that makes Amazon the best eCommerce platform is its Reviews Section.

Buyers visit the Reviews Section as soon as they're done reading the features and benefits.

And did you know?

A product that has just one review is 65% more likely to be purchased than a product that has none.

It’s because shoppers refuse to purchase products that have not received positive feedback from customers.

That's why getting reviews is important.

So in month #5 and #6, you must intentionally ask for reviews.

Some sellers even give freebies in exchange for leaving a review.

And once you do all this, you will slowly climb the ranks and get to page #1 for your category.

PRO TIP: Don’t worry about bad reviews. If someone leaves a 1-star rating, you can always message that customer. Ask them how you can make it up to them. Who knows? They might be happy with your service and they’ll their negative review.

If nothing happens (No sales. No views.)...
You need to reevaluate.
You might have entered a saturated category -- like iPhone cases or earphones -- where there is high competition and it’s dominated by BIG brands.

So to recap...
In Lesson #1...

You've seen the EXACT process my students went through to become Filipino Amazon Sellers.

You’ve seen what you need to do each month, the challenges, the best practices, Filipino seller hacks, and so much more.

Yes, it’s not easy.

Yes, there’s a lot of preparation involved.

Yes, you need capital.

But that’s what it takes to start an International Business.

Remember, once you’re an Amazon Seller, the entire world is within your reach.

Your brand will gain instant credibility since Amazon is the #1 ecommerce store in the world.

Your products will be seen by millions of buyers around the world.

Your business can potentially generate 7-figures per month once it’s set-up properly.

The best part?

You don’t have to be a business graduate, marketing wizard, or savvy salesman to make this happen.

Ordinary Filipinos -- who have little to no experience with eCommerce -- has been able to do this.

If you want PROOF, then you have to read my next lesson. :)

You’re going to see REAL examples of Filipino Amazon sellers generating sales in less than 6 months.

But for now, my question for you is this…
